Phil was kind, calm, friendly, intelligent, funny and so much more. It was always a pleasure spending time in his company. I knew Phil as an excellent local Labour Party Chair, a community activist, an avid music fan, someone with a passion for cricket and sport more broadly, a sommelier, a brilliant historian, and most of all someone that cared about others. I'll always be lucky to have known him.
